Impact of Various Transportation Modes on the Air Quality of Dhaka City: A Case Study at Motijheel

Transportation sector significantly contributes to air pollution. This study calculates the daily load of emission some criteria pollutants (Nitrogen Oxides, Sulfur Carbon Monoxide and Suspended Particulate Matter) hydrocarbons from vehicular fleet at Toyenbee Circular Road, Motijheel, Dhaka. It also analyzes relative contribution certain types vehicles a specific type pollutant. Primary volume data is collected field video graphic survey expansion factors are taken literature. Results show that different contribute pollution differently. For pollution, motor cars mainly responsible while bus main contributor Nitrogen Oxides Motorcycle Matter in this case.
